As another new year is under way we have something to celebrate in another wise gloomy month....not just because it's January but it is a birthday month. Moms birthday is the 29th, Owen and Kelly have theirs on the 21st and 25th...I sometimes can't believe that mom would be 68 years old. How can that be...she was 55 when she passed away. .however the best thing is that rachel is getting married in august of this year..

Lupins, when you see these you know summer is coming |
Family, whether it be your littlest neice,,
your youngest sister, your furry kids, or your
crowd of all of them...these are the times that I cherish in my heart and will forever....Being together and making memories is what life is all
about ...love one another..if you argue, say your
sorry and cry and get over it..hug and move on...
Mom and dad taught us that no one is any more special than any of us...be kind to others and treat all you meet with love and respect....
They met at our beach when they were teens, married , had us their legacy...we keep their memory alive in us, through us and for us..all the grow and become better people..
Many of our Memory Plants... |
Two hearts met at a beach,
Fell in love, lived, shared and cared ,
Forever they are remembered in Their
Memory Garden.....
My mom loved Dragonflys, butterfiles and hummingbirds! |
My special neices, my fur boys and their furcousins at the cottage. |

May 28th 2012, As the sun was out this summer we decided to stay home and take care of our home CHORES, the gardens, the sheds, the lawn, the gazebo, the potted flower pots, all the HOME STUFF...believe me I wanted to be at the Cottage in the gorgeous weather...after all was done I decided to make an afternoon treat for my bff neighbour on her deck...we had sunny drinks and fresh appetizers( you have to love anything with cucumbers..so fresh:) After my visit with her, I went to see my Senior Neighbours...whenever I need my Parental Fix I visit them...nothing does the heart better than listening to the advice of those who have already done that been there....What a heart filled, friend filled , neighbourly weekend.... suns Out, Love Karen
Brisby, my furkid.....strong silent and a lot like his dad, stubborn. |

Mothering Day
May flowers arrive this month beautiful and all anew. They christen Mother Earth with their beauty. We celebrate Mother's Day but I think it should be called Mothering Day! I have two Goldens retrievers who are my furkids! I mother my siblings...maybe because we lost our parents way too early in our lives to cancer. I mother my hubby somewhat unbeknownst to him. When you have devoted unconditional love for those special In your life, we without children, are Mothers. This is the first time in ten years I went in a card store before mothers day. It's hard onthe heart! I love you mom.

As I read my favorite blogs tonight I hear the fog horns off in the distance. April showers for three days in a row is enough. Fog horns guiding the ships makes me whimsical. My dad was in the navy for 33 years. He sailed into the Harbour many times. Whimsy. Sentimental. As our yard gets watered this last few days I see the grass getting greener, the plants poking through the ground...I think of my mom and her garden, whimsy.. Sentimental.

April Showers Bring May.?.?.?.
As April showers bring May flowers, our family only wish that was what we were getting.. Our brother and his family. Are being sent across our country even farther away from us. We are grateful its not to Afghanistan but it makes us all sad and lonesome. The military life is hard on the family for sure!!! So as everyone waits for their new flowers to bloom, my brother and his family will be pulling up Roots yet once again.

March us into Spring
For most of us eastern Canadians spring time is very short... A few warm days then back to freezing rain and possibly snow! Thank goodness for seasonal decorating and the Internet for spring inspiration... I love the diy blogs and people's creativity. The signs of crocus another other early flowers are a treat for our eyes! Along with spring comes brighter hair color and brighter clothes! Oh yeah! Also comes our trip to Florida!!!

As February 25 gets closer I become more whimsical about the things around me and the memories I hold so dear. My mom will be in heaven for ten years on this date. I decided to learn to crochet, something mom did so very well. Knitting will be next but it is a pain when your left handed! Boo yah.! For her I will try! I found the journal i wrote as soon as she became sick with cancer.... I was all over the place with my emotions. We really only had two weeks to say goodbye. Pancreatic cancer is definitely the silent killer. Love and miss you mom.
